How to Stuff a Bear

How to Stuff a Bear

The Bears that we sell are 15" to 16" tall. They have a 3-4" opening on their back with a zipper and Velcro closure to make stuffing your bear as easy and seamless as possible. A Stuff a Bear party is appropriate for anyone over 3 years old. (kids under 3 also love to stuff a bear but will definitely need a little help)

Step 1: Getting the Bear Ready
Open the Velcro on the back side of the bear and pull out the cloth pouch. Pulling the pouch to the outside of the bear will make stuffing the bear much easier. On one side of the Velcro is a fabric strip. DO NOT REMOVE THIS. The fabric keeps the stuffing from sticking to the Velcro.

Step 2: Stuffing the Bear
a) With a small handful of stuffing at a time, stuff the bears arms and legs.
b) Stuff the belly and bottom and don't forget the back of the head
c) Make a wish on your Magic Wishing Star and tuck the star in the bears belly
d) If you have a sound chip, remove the tab on the back of the sound chip and tuck it into
the bears belly. Now you are ready to close the bear

Step 3: Closing the Bear
a) Close the zipper on the bears back (once it is closed it will be difficult but not impossible to open)
b) Remove the fabric strip located on one side of the Velcro closure
c) Press the Velcro together
d) Smooth the bears fur over the Velcro for a seamless closure.

Step 4: Dress the Bear
If you have tee shirts for the bear decorating them with fabric markers is a fun way to make each bear unique.

Step 5: Birth Certificate
Choose a name and fill out vital stats on the bears birth certificate

Step 6: Take him home to play and be your new friend!

Why we sell the Stuffing Seperately

Many of you might be wondering why we are now selling the Stuffing and plush skins separately. Well mostly because many of you asked for it and we always try to accommodate the customer. Some customer prefer to purchase stuffing from local craft stores or nearby Walmart and that is fine. It will definitely save a little on the shipping costs. Just a note: the stuffing that we sell is a premium hypoallergenic stuffing that is designed to maintain the shape of your stuffed animal for long periods of time. You will not be able to purchase this stuffing at your local Walmart or craft store. That is not to say that stuffing from local stores cannot be used.
Our stuffing is packed in decorative cello gift bags and will easily fill any of our 15" plush skins. Cost: $2.00

Grey's Anatomy Nurses

Just started watching the show after the season recapp a few weeks ago. For the most part, I really like the show but I'm starting to get annoyed with the portrayal of Nurses. They make them out to be these barely tolerable to look at, slutty Bimbos, that would do anything to score a doctor. Or ,these haggard old mothers whose only skill is emptying bedpans. Just for the record if there are any hot women in the hospital most likely they are nurses. Most nurses would never marry a doctor and first year surgical interns don't know where to begin taking care of a patient on the floor. I would take a seasoned Nurse over a first year surgical intern anyday. With that being said I'm really enjoying the show.

The Begining: Entrepreneurial Adventures of an Almost Stay at Home Mom

Hi and Welcome to Buffy's Bear Friends Blog. This hopefully will be a place where I can share information with future Buffy's Bear Friends Reps and any Mom or Dad looking to throw a great Birthday Party for their kids.
A little bit about myself. I am a 35 year old stay at home mom who works 20 hours a week as a Nurse and owns a small business. How is that possible? I work mostly weekend night shifts as a Vascular Nurse at Mass General Hospital so many times my kids don't even know I've left the house. The next morning I stroll in soon after they wake up; so they never miss me. It's great! Of course, I obviously have to sleep ,but they just seem content knowing I'm in the house and there if they really needed me. This also provides a great bonding opportunity for Daddy and kids.
He by the way does an amazing job with them. Spending a day alone with his kids is something every Dad should do on a regular basis. The kids view us as interchangeable so the responsibility of caregiver never lies on one or the other of us. This comes in handy when one or both kids are sick or upset. My husband also has a true understanding and great respect for stay at home Moms or Dads and provides a lot of sympathy and encouragement to me during the rest of the week. Does he sound to good to be true, well he is.
Monday through Friday it's me and My Jaya and Syammy. Syammy is a 3 1/2 year old incredibly articulate, imaginative and active little boy. He is and has been for the last year and a half consumed with Thomas the Tank Engine and anything that has to do with Thomas. We whole heartedly feed his addiction by purchasing hundreds of dollars (probably thousands, but we don't like to admit it) of Thomas the Tank Engine Trains, DVD's, Track, Buildings etc.... Jaya is our 15 month old little princess. Happy, Happy, Happy, amazingly bright, and active are the best ways to describe Jaya. She has the most captivating smile and wears it all the time. I love the time I spend with them and am incredibly proud of myself and my husband, that we are able to manage our schedules so our kids do not have to attend daycare and will be raised with our loving hands.
My husband, Syam, is an off the charts bright, caring guy with somewhat of a stubborn streak. These particular personality traits have lead him to his current career path. He is an entrepreneur in the non-profit sector. His intelligence enabled him to start the business caring and empathy have driven him to do something that will make someone's life better, hence the non-profit world. His stubbornness to conform to the unwritten rules of the corporate world have driven him to be an entrepreneur.
O.K. this finally leads me to why I created Buffy's Bear Friend and Buffy's Moonwalk. Being mostly a stay at home Mom can always impose a financial strain to the household. So I set out to find opportunities that would enable me to bring in some extra cash to lighten the strain. I love nursing, but many times I help people through the toughest times of their lives and frankly it can be depressing. There have been many occasions where I have cried wondering how one person can be put through so much pain and suffering. So my goal in finding an opportunity was to be involved with something that brought joy to someone's life. How much happier can Children's Birthday Parties be? I had so much fun in planning my own kids birthday parties, this was perfect. I also wanted to learn about and experience running a business. My husband is so passionate about his business. I was jealous that I wasn't experiencing it with him. Now I understand why he loves it so much. We have a great time sharing ideas and mapping out the futures of both Buffy's Moonwalk and Buffy's Bear Friends.
I knew right away that I wanted to do Moonwalks. I loved them as a kid. It was a novelty to be able to jump in a moonwalk growing up, I think it's really cool that my kids can jump in them anytime they want. We also make sure our prices are reasonable enough that most any child can rent one for their Birthday Party. They also encourage kids to exercise, with the rising rate of childhood obesity, this is not a bad thing.
Buffy's Bear Friends happened a couple of years later. I really felt bad that kids with winter Birthdays were missing out, so to speak. I again did a lot of research looking for a fun quality product that could be done anytime of year and would appeal to girls, boys, teens , and adults. Voila, the creation of Buffy's Bear Friends. It is a little bit of a stretch to say that Stuffing Bears is an exercise, but it is a little more challenging than having the Bears Stuffed for you at Build a Bear.
Well,That brings us up to today! We are very excited about taking Buffy's Bear Friends to the next level by introducing Reps throughout the U.S. and hope there are some of you out there that will share our enthusiasm and want to be part of Buffy's Bear Friends.
